Karnataka budget is not election budget, says CM Siddaramaiah

Exuding confidence of coming back to power, and dashing the analysis of pollsters of rolling out sops ahead of the 2018 elections, chief minister Siddaramaiah on Friday termed the 2018-19 state budget as one which was never considered as an “election” budget but a regular 2018-19 financial document that he will come back to power to implement.
“This budget was never meant to be an election budget. What is an election budget? There is no such term in the constitution and those who have read it will not term budgets as such. I have presented a budget that is based on our confidence of returning to power and implement it,” said Siddaramaiah.
