The film was produced by Sa Ra Govindu under his home production Thanu Pictures. Two music directors V. Manohar and Rajesh Ramanath were seen in brief supporting roles.

Arasu, directed by Mahesh Babu, features Puneeth Rajkumar in the title role as the son of a business tycoon who leaves his inherited wealth to make a living on his own upon being rejected by a girl who he proposes to in marriage; Ramya plays his love interest. Meera Jasmine appears as a parallel lead opposite Puneeth. Srinivasa Murthy, Komal and Adi Lokesh appear in supporting roles. Actress Shriya Saran made a cameo appearance in the film, her first Kannada language film.

America! America!! is a Kannada family drama film written and directed by Nagathihalli Chandrashekhar. It features Ramesh Aravind, Akshay Anand and Hema Panchamukhi essaying the key roles whilst H. G. Dattatreya, Vaishali Kasaravalli and Shivaram performing the supporting roles.
